BRANDING + STRATEGY WORK - PING SOCIAL

Ping Social is a mobile application for planning and doing. Ping allows you to connect with friends and seamlessly turn plans into actions. I joined Ping's team in August 2015 about two months after the application was fully functional and launched for Apple and Android. I was tasked with generating Ping's brand presence, defining the optimal target market, and developing the marketing strategy. As Ping's user base grew and consumer surveys were conducted, the developers began to reshape Ping's functions to fit consumer desires. With these product changes came the need for a shift in strategy. I provided strategic recommendations throughout the app's evolution.

Initial Brand Evaluation

As part of my interview process for Ping Social, I was asked to evaluate the current state of Ping and make initial branding recommendations.

Brand Personality + Strategy Guidelines

I began the process of forming Ping Social's brand image by defining the brand's personality and creating guidelines for advertising executions.

Discover Launch Campaign

In December 2015, Ping launched a new feature for the city of Austin called Discover. This feature allows Austin users to explore events, happy hours, and other activities going on around them. I created a campaign proposal to announce the launch of the Discover feature.

Product Shift

In March 2016, after conducting research involving its users habits and preferences, Ping evolved again. The developers simplified the app to focus on the sole purpose of announcing plans to friends. I created a new branding proposal to reflect this product change.
